This entrepreneur, writer, artist, and web designer has quite
an obsession a love for coffee. She was 15 years old when she got her first cafe gig at an independent cafe in New Mexico.
Even though this dislocated Santa Fean has also at times been dislocated from a career in cafes, coffee is still a passion.
Ysmay started as just a barista, and worked her way up to cafe management, working at both independent and corporate coffee shops.
It was her work for some of the worst cafe bosses in the industry that inspired the ebook series How To Run A Coffee Shop.
“The world is full of bad cafe managers and even worse cafe owners,” says Ysmay, “and the worst part is many of them don’t have any idea what they’re doing wrong. After all, you don’t know what you don’t know.”
When she’s not working or drinking coffee, she can be found practicing yoga, meditating, writing, and reading.
